The Donner Lake Triathlon is proud to partner with Clean Up The Lake as the event's beneficiary. We are aiming to raise $5,000 to support litter removal operations and aquatic invasive species surveys in Donner Lake. Clean Up the Lake (CUTL) is a 501(c)3 organization with a mission to engage local communities in taking action to protect the environment, both above and below the surface. Our efforts involve working with community volunteers to remove submerged litter from natural waterways and monitor for aquatic invasive species (AIS) to enhance water quality and ecosystem health. We also aim to educate the public about how litter accumulates and how AIS can be transported in unforeseen ways in the environment. Our SCUBA cleanups have already removed over 70,000 pounds of litter from lakes in the Sierra Nevada mountains. 100% of your donation will directly support Clean Up The Lake's operations in Donner Lake.
